About Hotchpotch Dundee
Hotchpotch is a monthly open-mic night for writers, comedians, poets, and storytellers of all kinds. It’s a relaxed, creative space where people can share their words—or simply sit back, listen, and enjoy.
We meet at Groucho’s on the Nethergate on the second Monday of every month. Doors open at 6:00pm and readings begin at 6:30pm.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a first-time reader, or just someone who loves hearing good stories, you’ll fit right in.

What to Expect
Here’s how the evening usually runs:
Sign-ups are handled by Adam before the event starts and during breaks, and he collects the £2 entry fee during the first break. (Cash only for now!)
If you have accessibility needs, questions, or just want a chat, Eilidh is your go-to person before, during or after the event.
Readings start promptly at 6:30pm, with breaks every half an hour or so to allow you to stretch your legs and get another drink.
Each night brings a mix of poetry, prose, and surprises. Expect a little magic, a few laughs, and the occasional goosebump.
